Bozeman is surrounded by public land with opportunities for world-class biking, climbing, rafting, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, skiing, hiking, trail running, camping… the list goes on. For those new to the area, the long list of options can be overwhelming.
If you don’t know where to start, check out the ASMSU Outdoor Recreation Program. The program has three main components: a rental/resource center, seasonal outings, and educational programs.
Outdoor gear is expensive, and it’s their goal to provide high-quality, diverse rental equipment to MSU students for reasonable prices. Be sure to check the website for availability and pricing.
Seasonal outings and clinics are safe, affordable, and open to all MSU students, faculty, and staff. Trips take place on most weekends and some weeknights, and cover a wide range of activities.
The educational component includes everything from one-hour bike-maintenance clinics to eight-day wilderness medical courses. Contact the office to learn more about getting involved in these trips or outdoor leadership opportunities.
So why wait? Let MSU’s Outdoor Rec Program expose you to the exceptional outdoor opportunities we have in our big backyard.
